You will have the pleasure of meeting in person a true farmer who for generations has been passionately dedicated to the production of excellent quality citrus fruits in a family business.
    We will lead you to discover the most picturesque and characteristic corners of the medieval town of Silves, the artisan activities and traditional flavours of local gastronomy in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.

What to Expect

    It's ideal for countryside lovers who enjoy outdoors activities and support sustainable organic agriculture and for those who enjoy discovering local communities anf their lifestyle. Families with kids and children are welcome. This half-day day tour will introduce you to the fascinating history of Silves and its citrus cultivation, immersed in rural Algarve. We start the tour in the morning at pick up point at Silves municipal market. We will then pick up the car and move to the final location, an organic orange farm where a passionate farmer will describe the different varieties of citrus and production techniques, as well as various tips from irrigation to collection. You will pick the fruit yourself and taste a fresh orange juice inside the farmer's house, kindly opening its door for an amazing traditional lunch. After picking, we will prepare a delicious orange jams with the farmer for you to take away and enjoy for next days you are going to spend in Algarve!
