This full-day tour will start in Palermo, where you will learn about the city’s fascinating history and the many cultures that called it their home throughout the centuries. You’ll pass through streets filled with bustling outdoor markets and see artistic delights and historic gems at every corner, including Norman palaces, Baroque churches and exquisite buildings, like the 12th-century Palatine Chapel featuring stunning mosaics and ceilings covered in spectacular wooden panels carved and painted by Arab craftsmen. Then your driver will take you to the hilltop village of Monreale to visit the stunning cathedral built by the Normans in the 12th century. Inside, walls and columns shimmer with stunning mosaics, covering a surface of over 6,000 square meters. You will have also some free time to stroll around the center of Monreale before the drive back to Palermo.
