Overview

    In the suburbs of St. Petersburg, the famous luxurious Pavlovsk palace and park ensemble is located. The Pavlovo estate was once presented by Catherine the Great to her son Emperor Paul I. The Pavlovsk Palace is a state open-air museum known as Pavlovsk. The design of the castle and its construction was commissioned to the famous in the 1780-1790s architect, Charles Cameron. Of course, the appearance of the palace is very different from the original. The building was rebuilt several times in the first part of the nineteenth century. Around the palace there is a beautiful and picturesque Pavlovsk park, it was created by famous architects Charles Cameron, Andrei Voronikhin and Vincenzo Brenna. Of course, the Pavlovsk Palace is not the only building in the open-air museum, its architectural ensemble also includes many other buildings and pavilions.
