    Po-ke Peninsula: Full Day Private Hike is an archaeological field trip that visits the mysterious Eastern headland of Rapa Nui. The aim is to explore the desolation of this area, riddled with legends and unique archaeological traits that was abandoned by its human residents more than 600 years ago. This field trip is based on scientific, ethnographic and historical evidence suplemented by a deep knowledge of our oral tradition.

    RPS Experiences is the tourism wing of the Rapanui Pioneers Society, a research and educational organization formed by thoroughly experienced members.

What to Expect

    Poike is one of the most mysterious and rarely visited parts of the island. There are no roads here, and most of the time no one else is around. It is maybe the last part of Rapa Nui (Easter Island) that retains the isolation vibes from the ancient times. The archaeology is scarce and unique, very different from elswhere. The only real way to explore its secrets is by having an experience local guide take you through. Breathtaking landscapes, eroded soils, trachyte domes, petroglyphs, caves, unique small moai, ceremonial monuments abandoned 600 years ago like the rest of the Peninsula. It's a very special full day hike that only very few try. Don't miss the opportunity to do it as a private tour with the most knowledgeable team on the island. Limited availability.
