Overview

Family-friendly and private offroad tour to the Cape Fur Seal colony at Pelican Point.

The tour starts off in Walvis Bay with the first stop being the lagoon. The Flamingo are not tame, though. The weather is usually better in the morning, and your chances of a glassy ocean is much better. With a bit of luck you might also see the Great White Pelican here.

Crossing the sand spit which makes Walvis Bay the best harbor on the West Coast of Africa, might see some wildlife if they are in the area. The Cape Fur Seal is 100,000 strong, you will never forget the experience of being there.

Together with the Lighthouse there is also a small shipwreck at Pelican Point with a big legacy. This is the wreck of one of 14 Norwegian whalers that hunted the whales that gave Walvis Bay it's name to near extinction. This place is steeped in history, your friends will be jealous at home when you show and tell this trip!
