Stop At: Valley of the Kings, Luxor City, Luxor 85511 Egypt

The renowned Valley of the Kings in Egypt is where, from the 16th to 11th century BC, rock-cut tombs were created for pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom (the Eighteenth to Twentieth Dynasties). It lies on the west bank of the Nile opposite Thebes (modern Luxor), within the heart of the Theban Necropolis. This wadi comprises two valleys - East Valley and West Valley - which hold up to 64 tombs and chambers. These royal burial sites are adorned with scenes from Egyptian mythology and provide insight into funerary practices during that period.
