Stop At: Abu Simbel Temple Complex, Abu Simbel, Abu Simbel Egypt

Enjoy a guided tour of the remarkable temples of Abu Simbel while traveling from Aswan in a private vehicle. With your knowledgeable Egyptologist guide, you'll find out about the UNESCO-led relocation of the entire cliff face to higher ground and how these temples were discovered by accident in 1813. Though guides are not allowed inside either the Great Temple of Ramses II or the smaller Temple of Hathor, they will use illustrations and photos to explain the interiors and their artworks. Afterward, you have some free time to explore on your own. This site features two monuments which largely escaped damage from past invaders so its scale and intricate decoration will leave most visitors awestruck. You will then travel back to Aswan whereupon arrival transfer to Train station en route to Luxor or Aswan Airport for onward journey towards Cairo.
