Overview

Derry is Europe’s only remained fully Walled City and it’s 400-year-old walls are full of history. Over the course of longer than a millennium - the origins of the city, originally called Doire in 546 and the life of its Patron Saint: Colmcille; to the city’s first Sectarian conflict: The Siege of Derry in 1688 and all its characters, right up to the destruction of Siege-Time Governor George Walker’s statue by the IRA in 1973, which had previously overlooked the Bogside. All of this, along with the city’s oldest building and spectacular views from the walls.
