    Prague Castle, the symbol of the Czech state, which became the seat of Bohemian dukes in the 9th century. Since then, it has been continually the seat of the rulers of the Czech lands, from kings of Bohemia to Czechoslovakia and Czech presidents. According to the Guinness Book of Records, this is the largest ancient castle in the world. Besides all, it is a unique mixture of different architectural styles, from Romanesque St. George's Basilica to Gothic St. Vitus cathedral and much more. The tour continues down the hill to the Lesser Town, the historical neighbourhood founded in the 13th century, which has been rebuilt twice, firstly after the Hussite war and then after another fire ravaged the region in 1541. At the time, Baroque the baroque was at its height, and architects built every new building in the style. Today, it is a pristinely preserved example of the 17th century design aesthetic and, for history and design buffs, can’t be missed during your stay in Prague.
