The tour starts with pick up from the centrally located hotels in Mumbai. The first destination will be the Kanheri Caves and Sanjay Gandhi National Park. The caves get its name from a Sanskrit word “Krishnagiri”, which means black mountains. There are about 109 caves carved from basalt rock. These caves served as a center of Buddhist influence in Indian history during ancient times. One will find the Buddhist stupas, a congregation hall, and marvel rock-cut and carved out into ingenious water channels.
Later, we will proceed towards our next destination. Global Vipassana Pagoda, which stands as a monument for peace and harmony is truly a very dovish place visited in the latter half of this tour. The Global Vipassana Pagoda which was inaugurated by the then president Pratibha Tai Patil in 2009, is a beautiful Buddhist meditation center near the island of Gorai.
The tour ends by dropping the guests at their respective hotels in Mumbai.
