Evade the hustle and bustle of Bogota by exploring the renowned and sacred Guatavitá lagoon during a two-hour guided walk in the reserve.

The park has great appeal to national and foreign visitors owing to its contemplative tourism that embodies the enchantment of El Dorado's legend. Throughout history it has told tales of rituals performed by indigenous people who bathed in gold and submerged themselves in the lagoon to offer their most precious treasures as offerings. Upon arrival at the lakefront location, an English or Spanish speaking native guide will join your group for approximately 75 minutes to explain Muisca culture, El Dorado's legend and biological importance of the area while taking a 30 minute walk along a path towards crater's edge where you can view Laguna de Guatavita while listening to stories about "El Dorado" and Muisca culture.
