The Anna Akhmatova Museum in the Fountain House was created in 1989 to mark the centenary of the poet's birth. Soon materials, documents and photographs of Akhmatova were started to be collected. The literary exposition is subject to a special logic - sub specie aeternitis (from the angle of eternity), or according to Akhmatova's poetic formula: "I remember everything at the same time...".The museum is constantly evolving, and in 2014, the literary exposition was significantly reorganized with the help of the latest multimedia technologies.
