Say Trip from Turin to Geneva

Duration

clock9 to 10 hours

Overview

Geneva’s modern, polished facade belies a history stretching back to the ancient Gauls. Situated on the shores of Europe’s largest alpine lake, the symbol of the city it the “Jet d’eau” – a fountain shooting a jet of water 140-meters into the air, within view of many of the most upscale hotels and many restaurants. On the left-hand shore, the Old Town is dominated by St. Peter’s Cathedral. Founded in 1160, the Romanesque-turned-Gothic structure was given a neo-classical facade in the 18th century. Along with the rich religious trappings, visitors can also see the archaeological dig site in the basement, or climb the tower for stupendous views of the city. The entire country is synonymous with watches, and the Patek Phillipe Museum is sure to make even the most seasoned horologist green with envy.
