Overview

Explore one of the best dive sites in the world where you can dive in crystal clear- and even drinkable water. The glacier water filters for about 30 to 100 years through hardened lava rock from Langijökull glacier. This creates an easy slow moving current to help you along your way when diving as it flows in the direction we dive. The current also ensures a constant steady flow of clear glacial spring water, ensuring that it's constantly clear.

The depth of the fissure is about 18 meters at the deepest point and from the beginning to the end the cathedral is about 100 meters long. You can see right across from one end to the other. Gazing through this section of Silfra is one of the most dramatic views underwater. Silfra Lagoon is the last section of Silfra and this is the place where the visibility is most apparent, as the Lagoon is the widest unobstructed area.
