Overview

    This experience will lead you to get to know the "Butteri" that is those who represent the symbol and soul of the Maremma with their legendary figure in an area made of marshes and scrub but also hills and sea where they took care of the herds of oxen and horses. A very curious historical anecdote was that dating back to 1890 when Buffalo Bill's western-inspired circus “Wild West Show” came to Italy and launched the challenge to the butteri. The latter picked it up and, led by Augusto Imperiali, got the better of the Americans, consecrating them as worthy representatives in the world of wild and genuine Italy.
