The original building has recently been completely renovated and extended with a spectacular new wing. With important movements such as Bauhaus, the Amsterdam School, De Stijl, CoBrA, abstract expressionism, pop art and conceptual art.     STEDELIJK BASE, the permanent installation of iconic works from the collection of the Stedelijk Museum. It occupies the entire new wing of the museum and features a selection of around 700 pieces grouped around historic movements, social themes, and influential artists.

    Temporarely on show: Bruce Nauman June 5th-Oct 24th 2021. Biggest exhibition of his work ever in the Netherlands (co-operation with Tate Modern).
