Small Group History Tour with Garden District and Irish Channel in New Orleans

Duration

clock4 hours

Overview

Get an understanding of New Orleans' Heritage and History on this half day tour.

First, you will explore the Irish Channel, an historic district not usually part of the main tourist path. Originally known as the home of the working class that worked at the city’s ports and breweries, today it’s a mainly residential neighborhood that once again has a vibrant brewery scene.

Then you will visit the beautiful Garden District where you will get a glimpse of the lovely architecture of this pleasant neighborhood.

This tour supports and provides exposure for local businesses and local nonprofits. Your guide will highlight and stop at different shops and stores with deep community roots. It focuses on a very historic district of New Orleans that is not usually part of tourist visits to the city and uses only public transportation to minimize its impact on the environment.

We donate 1% of the sales of the this tour to a local nonprofit working for the well-being of its community.
