The Spilt Blood Church is decorated with Russian mosaics, precious stones, jeweler’s enamel and higher quality colored tiles of higher quality. The icon cases and the canopy of the church are rare examples of stone carving and jeweler’s arts and were made by world famous craftsmen from the lapidary factories of Ekaterinburg, Kolival, Piterhof.
It is only surviving monument in Russia dedicated to Alexander II. According to Alexander III wish the church was not meant for conducting traditional religious services.
