The Freedom Trail, Chemin De La Liberté – WWII Escape Over The Pyrenees - 6 Day

Duration

clock6 days

Overview

The Chemin de la Liberté is a demanding but spectacular freedom trail of great historical interest. Over the course of four days, you will follow the escape route used by thousands fleeing occupied France during World War II. This trip runs July to September only and it's for people with a reasonable to high fitness level.

You will begin in St Girons, before trekking high into the Pyrenees. Here you will stay in a mountain refuge at over 2,200m before descending into Spain. We offer the highest standard of wild camp support including pre-camp buffet lunch, tent and cooking equipment for a wild camp, staff and a sleeping bag/mat out service so you can travel lighter. This can be offered as a private tour for families or groups on request.

Our lead guide has travelled to over 30 countries climbing mountains around the world and is highly experienced in client care and dealing with expedition challenges. At Freedom Trail Treks your enjoyment and safety are our main priority.
