Located outside Chisinau, we will take a two hours ride to the place. We will spend an hour and half in the location and then come back.
The other alternate command facilities similar to this one outside Moldova, are now either located in restricted military areas, are not accessible for other reasons, or their existence is unknown to the public. The bunker consists of two cilinders, hiddin underground, which both go 12 floors underground. It empresses with the size and triggers the imagination.
It was built for purpose to ensure command capabilities from a place hidden from enemy. In the United States, the president unleashes the counter-strike via radio signal from the Air Force One, while the Soviet Union has traditionally relied on huge bunkers .
