    Overview

    Taking a stroll through the majestic city of Naples, inhabited by kings and queens since 1600, we can begin our journey at Piazza del Plebiscito. This plaza was wanted by French king Gioacchino Murat and is home to the renowned Caffè Gambrinus, which still preserves its original 800s decor. We can then immerse ourselves in the beauty and luxury of one of the oldest Bourbon residences in town: The Royal Palace with its throne room, Court Theater, and Palatine Chapel - the palace church. After admiring so much opulence, we go out to take in the stunning Galleria Umberto I - birthplace of Italy's first Cafè Chantante. Finally we ascend into the brightly-colored Spanish Quarters where every street corner seems to tell stories about characters who made history in Naples ...

    The oldest royal residence in the city which was constructed in 1600 during the Spanish Viceroyalty with further expansion and ornamentation taking place at the start of Bourbon rule over the Kingdom of Naples. The original furnishings and decorations are still inside with Empire style additions made under French control.
