Walking along old trails, finding past time signs. Snuggling up with your footsteps while feeling the scent of olive trees and the colors of wild flowers. Discover our old towns where time stands still, your mind breaks free and hidden ages still survive. Put the present day on hold and get yourself into history and nature: old mule tracks, mystery tales and woods, breathtaking views and local food, just as the old travellers. Your day starts with a “Goodmorning!” from Vezio Castle. Then you'll be walking on the old “Wayfarers' trail”; small picnic break with local honey and jam; lunch at a traditional Crotto restaurant at the end of the hike. After lunch you will visit one of the most important olive oil mill on the Lake before walking down to Bellano and catch the train back to Varenna.
Varenna is very easy to reach by train from Milano. The same train goes back to Milano from Bellano.This tour is pet-friendly.
