Overview

    As part of the experience you will go to a Monastery in Choglamsar
    established by Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche who was appointed as the head of Nyingmar tradition. Nyingma Tradition is the oldest of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism (Kagyu, Sakya and Gelug). You will visit Dalai lamas official residence in Ladakh then walk alongside the Indus River, also known as Sindhu is one of the longest rivers in Asia. It originates in the Tibetan Plateau in the vicinity of Lake Mansarovar. As part of the experience you would be eating lunch with a local family in their home. They lived like nomads and eventually formed a colony and community settlements in Choglamsar. Tibetan Refugees have settled in India by the tens of thousands since 1959, when the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama and many of his followers fled to northern India to escape a Chinese crackdown. You are free to interact with them and ask any questions you wish. the guide will act as a translator.
