    Overview

    A representative from Ancient Egypt Tours will collect you from your hotel in Luxor for a private day tour to the Temples of Dendara and Abydos. First, visit The Temple of King Seti I, which was finished by King Ramses II. Then proceed to Abydos Temple - or 'Seti Temple' as it is known - followed by a trip to the Temple of Hathor at Dendara, who was revered as the God of Love and Joy. After your visits to Dendara and Abydos you will be driven back to your hotel in Luxor.

    Stop At: Abydos, Al Balyana, Sohag Egypt

    Ancient Egypt Tours representative will pick you up from your hotel/cruise in Luxor by air-conditioned modern vehicle to visit with your Egyptologist tour guide and explore the ancient sites. First on the agenda is Temple Abydos, erected during the reign of Pharaoh Seti I (1318-1304 BC) and completed by his son Ramses II (1304-1237 BC). This structure serves as an artistic revival of Old Kingdom forms and was part of Seti’s attempt to legitimize the Ramessid dynasty after losses under Akhenaten. Merneptah also added a great Hypogeum of Osiris to the temple of Seti. Lastly, Nectanebo I commissioned a Temple in the XXX Dynasty, but other additions were made throughout the Ptolemaic and Roman eras.

    Stop At: Dendera Temple Complex, Qena Egypt

    The next destination is The Temple of Hathor in Dendera along the Nile north of Luxor. It was constructed during Roman times and its decorations include figures from both Egyptian gods and Roman emperors. Its exterior features reliefs depicting pharaohs, deities, rituals etc., while inside there's a roof chapel dedicated to Osiris which has sundial plus circular zodiac displays. Following that it's back to hotel.
