Pompeii, the world-renowned site, is located about 150 miles south of Rome, close to Naples. It can be a lengthy trip from Rome or an easy excursion from Naples or the popular holiday region around Sorrento. With a guide it is an unforgettable experience.

Pompeii, an ancient Roman city in Campania, Italy located 14 miles (23 km) southeast of Naples and at the southeastern base of Mount Vesuvius. It was built on a spur created by a prehistoric lava flow to the north of the mouth of the Sarnus (present-day Sarno) River. In 79 CE, Pompeii along with Herculaneum, Stabiae, Torre Annunziata, and other communities were destroyed by a violent eruption from Mount Vesuvius; leaving their remains as an invaluable record of Greco-Roman life. To commemorate its significance in 1997 UNESCO declared Pompeii, Herculaneum and Torre Annunziata as World Heritage Site. Entrance ticket is 18pp.
