Overview

    Pass small villages and experience the traditional Cypriot life. First stop, Anogyra Village where you will visit Holy Cross church and the Carob museum.The village retains its charming character and local customs, such as the production of carobs and the making of a healthy carob toffee known as ‘Pasteli’. Next, you will be transferred to Arsos village for a quick coffee break. Discover,Tzelefos bridge which is part of Venetian Bridges nature trail. Do not miss the opportunity to capture the perfect picture. Then you will be driven to Kalopanayiotis Village where you will enjoy traditional Cyprus lunch and visit Ayios Lambadistis Monastery. The monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a complex of three churches all under a single, enormous timber roof. Before heading back to the resorts, you will enjoy a wine tasting at a local winery.

What to Expect

    You'll drive into the countryside, visiting Lampadistis Monastery in Kalopanayiotis, and enjoying a few pleasant surprises in rustic villages in between. First up is Platanisteia – a small village famed for its printmaking museum. After finding out about the history of the island's print industry, we'll visit the medieval Tzelefos Bridge – it's a standout selfie spot deep in the middle of woodland. Then, it's on to the village of Kalopanayiotis. You'll drop into a traditional family-run taverna for a lunch made from locally sourced ingredients. The highlight of the day is the village's Monastery of St John Lampadistis. The murals, which date as far back as the 14th century, are highly refined and very well-preserved. Admission fees to the monastery, which are included, go to its upkeep. And before heading back to the resort, you'll be able to sample some local wines in a typical Troodos Mountains winery.
