Le château de Versailles was the capital city in the 17th century. This is something new since the court used to be an itinerant one. Louis XIV known as the Sun king decided to leave the Louvre and settle down along with his court, family, clergy and ministers in Versailles. Thus its history starts with the transformation of the hunting lodge left by his father around 1661 and ends with the French Revolution in 1789. Historical facts and of course gossips about the french court played an important role in the life of this castle and my job wil be to reveal to you all those crunchy details.
Once there, we'll skip the line as you enter with French Official Guide with credentials. Then on our way to the domain of Marie Antoinette,'Petit Trianon', we will walk around the sun king's gardens and admire the extraordinary work of Mr Le Notre.To make it more comfortable, we can reach versailles train station to go back to paris either by taxi or by taking versailles little train.
