What to Expect

    Wellawaya consists of a number of ancient villages where the main livelihood of the people is paddy farming. You will see acres of paddy fields, talk to the villagers and experience their traditions and practices, prepare a traditional rice and curry lunch with them and enjoy it during this tour. Being an area connected with Sri Lanka's ancient history, Wellawaya has a lot of ruins of temples built during Sri Lankan kings' times. You will be able to visit Buduruwagala, one of the important archaeological sites in the area, while on this tour.
