You will enter the amphitheatre directly on to the original arena floor, then make your own way around the colossal arena. This is where bloodthirsty spectators massed to watch gladiators do battle with their fellow men and wild beasts.
The arena floor is the absolute highlight. Look up and around at the upper levels and imagine 80,000 Romans baying for your blood.
