    During Advent, our award winning walking tour of Dresden's historic city centre will include a visit to one of Dresden’s Christmas markets! Discover the important people and places that made Dresden what it is today. Who were the rulers who put Dresden on the map hundreds of years ago? What made Augustus the Strong such a pivotal and colourful figure in Dresden's history? How did the city recover from the almost total destruction of World War II? The answers to these and many more questions will be given as we walk around the famous sites, including the Royal Palace, the Semper Opera, the Frauenkirche and the Zwinger. Dresden is also home to Germany’s oldest Christmas Market and the Stollen, a special Christmas cake with a centuries-old tradition. You will also encounter Christmas inventions from Saxony, like the Nutcracker or the Moravian Star. The tour includes a small Christmas treat.
