The shores of Western Sicily are home to some of the island’s most prestigious wine estates, Florio and Donna Franca. Florio is a historic winery located in Marsala, with beautiful cellars dating back to 1833 that have been visited by the likes of Garibaldi and King Vittore Emanuele. After a tour of the huge estate, which includes three fascinating barrel chambers running beneath 104 arches, you will sample a selection of superb wines accompanied by some delicious nibbles. About 20 km south of Florio, Donna Franca is a beautiful wine estate immersed in the vineyards of the Marsala countryside. Here you will learn about the winemaking process behind their special biological wines and will enjoy a tasting session, as well as a delightful lunch with dishes of the local culinary tradition. After a full-day exploration, your driver will take you back to your hotel.
