Zhytomir city is located 140 km west of Kiev. It is one of the oldest cities of Ukraine and one of the 25 capitals of Ukrainian regions. It’s over 1000 years old and lease the name of the Scandinavian warrior Zhytomir whose legendary friends Ascold and Dir were the rules of Kiev in the IX century. The land of Zhitomir belonged at that time to the Slavonic tribe “inhabitants of the woods”.
