Overview

Escape the noise of the city and take some time to reconnect with nature on this half-day walking tour. Discover the forests and fjords of Oslo while hiking between viewpoints. Make a stop at Holmenkollen ski jump and the Frognerseteren historic landmark. Get a chance to swim in a forest lake and experience one of more than 300 lakes in Europe's largest urban forest.

Travel by metro from Oslo going up the hills, starting at sea level and ending nearly 500 meters above the city and fjord below. Stop at the historical Holmenkollen Ski Jump and see the icon of Oslo for nearly 150 years. Begin your hike through Oslo's Marka forest. Arrive at Frognerseteren, see the collection of 19th-century wooden buildings. Appreciate the monuments that characterize Norwegian rural architecture. Make your way to Vettakollen, a lookout point known only to the locals. Enjoy your picnic lunch before moving through the forest to the shores of Sognsvann. Swim in one of Oslo's prettiest lakes with water temperatures of between 18 to 24 degrees Celsius. Then, journey back down to the city via a different metro line.

Recommended for those who are physically fit. This tour also has time for a swim, so bring a swimsuit and towel. It was a beautiful and scenic experience. Ideal for nature lovers.
