Being one of the oldest festivals in Frankfurt, in the Middle Ages local people celebrated the Main river with a rich feast, parades and wine. The Dippemess dates back to the 14thcentury when it was called 'Maamess'and it is a traditional fair, where sellers are presenting, promote and furnish their ceramic products which are mainly bowls and pots. The Dippemess attracts a high number of visitors each year as among the market, a fairground is displayed with carousells, roller coasters which presents a frequented place for children during the festival.
