The visit to Essaouira's Medina offers captivating and vibrant vistas, from the Moroccan-Portuguese style through the terraces, cafés and souk. This historic Portuguese city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Morocco in 2001. As we journey through the Atlas Mountains, with several stops along the way; first to observe "flying goats" climbing argan trees for fresh nuts; second to take a break and have coffee in a Berber village; thirdly, to visit an argan oil factory. Once arrived at Essaouira, you will have free time to explore the souk located within the medina walls. Then tour La Scala's ramparts and Kasbah where one can discover the fortifications of La Scala, Essaouira Harbor, its municipal market, jewelry workshops as well as handicraft shops lining its streets selling a wide variety of beautiful handmade items such as Thuya products, clothing rugs etc.
