    What To Expect

Our Egyptologist tour guide will pick you up from the hotel in air-conditioned van and take you to the west bank of Luxor, where you can see the well-preserved tombs belonging to kings of the New Kingdom including great ruler Ramses II and child king Tut Ankh Amon (optional). Then, visit Queen Hatshepsut's mortuary temple called "the Holy of Holies" – one of the best examples of ancient architecture. This consists of three levels connected with each other by ramps and features different scenes on its walls depicting divine birth of the queen and her commercial expeditions to Punt land. The temple was mainly dedicated to worship supreme god Amon-Ra. Also, observe two colossi of Memnon – two massive statues representing King Amenhotep III seated. Following this, enjoy lunch before driving back to east side to visit Karnak Temple – a vast open air museum comprising decayed temples, chapels, pylons and other buildings at the complex which began during reign of Senusret I in Middle Kingdom and continued into Ptolemaic period. It is mainly a place for worshipping Theban Triad (God Amon, his consort Mut and their son Khunso). After that head over to Luxor Temple believed to be used for celebrating Egyptian festivals as indicated by scenes on its walls. Inside you will find a mosque called "Abu El Hagag" built on ruins of church constructed within temple; behind it are chapels built by King Alexander the Great.
