What To Expect

Pass By: Hurghada, Hurghada, Red Sea and Sinai

Your chauffeur and Egyptologist guide will pick you up from your Hurghada hotel at 5am to begin the 4-hour drive to Luxor in a private, air-conditioned vehicle - make sure to request a breakfast box from reception.

Begin on the East Bank of the Nile, with a visit of Karnak Temple, an immense complex that was built and rebuilt over many centuries: some parts date back 4,000 years while others go back to Roman times. It is committed to Amun, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu – these were Thebes' favored divine beings.

Have a well-earned early lunch at a local eatery before going across the Nile by car to explore Luxor's popular West Bank. Admire the colossal twin statues known as the Colossi of Memnon and also take in the grand remains of Hatshepsut's vast Temple – she was an Egyptian female pharaoh who wore a king's beard.

Lastly check out Valley of Kings (the necropolis), where many kings from Thebes were buried in beautifully decorated tombs. The most famous ones are King Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tutankhamen, Ramses VI & Amenhotep II; some of them (except for Tutankhamen) can be visited upon paying an extra fee.

After the long ride home you'll arrive back at your accommodation around 10:30pm; if needed make arrangements for late dinner with reception.
