After visiting the remains at Pompeii our driver will take you up Mount Vesuvius for a light lunch and wine tasting session. Go on a guided tour through the vineyards on Vesuvius' slopes. Visit the cellar with an explanation about how Lacryma Christi is produced.
Tasting accompanied by lunch: Appetizer featuring local products such as salami, provolone cheese, Casatiello (Italian Easter cake), salted ricotta cheese, bread and oil along with spices from Vesuvius and Campanian ham plus bruschetta topped with wood-fired bread and piennolo tomatoes.
Wines: Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Bianco DOP (Protected Designation Origin), Rosato and Rosso.
First course: durum wheat pasta served with piennolo cherry tomato sauce sprinkled with basil garnished with Lacryma Christi Riserva (80% piedirosso and 20% Aglianico aged between 18 to 24 months in French oak barrels).
Dessert: Neapolitan pastiera (traditional dessert made using ricotta cheese, wheat grains and candied fruit) paired with Capafresca Spumante Rosato (100% Aglianico) together with Passito Bianco IGT.
