Visitors to the archaeological site of Pompeii will arrive at the main entrance, Porta Marina, the ancient city gate that used to be walked through by the Pompeians to reach the sea. Here one can choose to explore the excavations independently using audio guides (available in various languages such as English, French, Spanish, German and Italian) or with an authorized guide of Campania Region (recognizable by their badges).

This coastal town is famous for its unique shape and vibrant colored houses seemingly clinging together on a rocky ridge.
