The modern city of Cluj-Napoca was founded by German settlers as Klausenburg in the 13th Century. The name Napoca was added to the traditional Romanian city name “Cluj” by dictator Nicolae Ceausescu in 1974 as a means of asserting Romanian claims to the region based on the theory of Daco-Roman Continuity. Among other institutions, Cluj-Napoca is famed for hosting the country’s largest university. It is also renowned for its cultural institutions, and the largest Romanian-owned commercial bank. Some famous landmarks in the city include; Hoia Forest, Central Park Simion Barnutiu, Gradina Botanica “Alexandru Borza,” Ethnographical Museum of Transylvania, National Museum of Transylvania History, Unirii Square, and more.
With airport transfers and other city transports, visitors will enjoy comfortable logistics in Cluj-Napoca, suitable for both individual and group transfers, and can also explore the city's outsides on day trips and excursions from the city. These tour activities and several others are available on Tripindicator, a tour team highly commendable for providing customers with the best tour activities at very affordable prices compared to other tour teams.
